The cemetery is enclosed in a wrought iron fence; however, the tombstone of Martha Virginia Turpin is located outside the fence, as well as other graves marked with stones. There are obviously unmarked graves. Dr. Thomas Jefferson Turpin is the only physician’s tombstone found. However, according to St. Luke’s Church (Protestant Episcopal), Powhatan Co., VA records 1842-1936, presented to the Virginia Historical Society by the Vestry of St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, Powhatan, VA, 12 December 1990, Dr. Philip Turpin is also buried there, and the name on the cemetery fence reads only, “ Dr. Turpin.”  St. Luke’s records refer to this cemetery as Archer Turpin’s cemetery. Following the tombstones found is a list of burials recorded in St. Luke’s records which occurred at the cemetery.
