Charlotte Beatrice Jackson

        On Sunday afternoon May 20, 2007, Charlotte Beatrice Jackson went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

        Charlotte Beatrice Jackson, a daughter of the late Charlie and Virgie Miles Jackson was born on March 21, 1930 in Powhatan, VA.

        Charlotte received Christ at and early age and joined Mt. Zion Baptist Church. Charlotte attended the Powhatan County School in Powhatan, VA.

        She worked for several years at the Children's Hospital in Richmond, VA. After leaving the Children's Hospital she went into the domestic field until retirement.

        Charlotte was very devoted to her family. She was a devoted caregiver to her brother Charlie Jackson, Jr. for nine years. He preceded her in death.

        Charlotte loved fishing, playing bid wist and cooking. Her favorite food was making hot rolls, which her family and others loved.

        She leaves to cherish fond memories a son, Herman Jackson of Decatur, GA; four grandchildren, Constance Franklin (Tim), Keith Austin, Westley DuShaun (Tonya) and Corneilita Lynette; thirteen great-grandchildren, Timinez, Cornetta, LaChante, Deronte and Sekeitra Franklin, Austin Mykeithea, Keith Markel, Jonathan, Joshua, Andrianne Nakeisha, Toni Morgan, Chrisshaun Jakeice and Cortavious Demon Jackson; seven great-great grandchildren, Dynastie Selyna, Demetrius Da'quionne, Quintavious Leeandre, Dentavious Taeandre, Justin, Timya Akira, and JaQuionne DeAnte Franklin; five sisters, Lenell Smith of Riverhead, NY, Mary Scruggs, Ida Jackson, Maude Britt all of Powhatan and Mahalia Turner of Richmond, VA; five brothers, Joseph Jackson of Bellport, NY, William, Walter, Arthur and devoted brother Lawrence Jackson all of Powhatan; two aunts, Mary Carter and Rosetta Johnson of Riverhead, NY; three sisters-in-law, Diane, Rosa and devoted Mabel Jackson all of Powhatan, VA; two brothers-in-law, Henry Taylor of Powhatan, VA and Allen Smith of Riverhead, NY; nieces, one devoted, Carolyn Jackson, nephews, other relatives and friends, one devoted Charlotte Mayo.






God knew that she was suffering,
The hills were hard to climb.
He gently closed her loving eyes
And whispered “Peace be Thine”.
The weary hours, the days of pain,
The sleepless nights are past,
The ever patient worn out frame,
Has found sweet rest at last.
