        Charlie Jackson, Jr., son of the late Charlie Jackson, Sr. and Virgie Miles Jackson was born May 31, 1931 in Powhatan County, Virginia.

        He gave his life to Christ and joined Mt. Zion Baptist Church. He attended public school in Powhatan. He was self-employed in the logging business until he became disabled.

        He was a devoted father and grandfather. Thoughout his illness he was a pleasant person and never complained.

        He departed this life Tuesday, October 12, 2004 at Chippenham Hospital.

        He leaves to cherish fond memories a son, Franklin Roosevelt Jackson; four daughters, Delores Smith (Eddie), Thelma Loretta Henderson (Charles), Denise Cox and Veronica Grimes (Lee); twelve grandchildren, Terry and Katrina Bell, Latasha Bouldin, Sharee Cox, Corey Goode, Ayshia Grimes, Tony, Brandon and Shawn Henderson, Shonari McCutchen, Calvin and Rodney Smith; three great-grandchildren, Jaden Bell, Jalen Bouldin and Kahlel McCutchen; six brothers, Bennie, Joseph, Arthur, Walter, William and Lawrence; seven sisters, Mary Scruggs, a devoted sister and caregiver Charlotte "Bea" Jackson, Virgie Taylor, Lenell Smith, Catherine Jackson, Maude Britt and Mahalia Turner; three aunts, Rosetta Johnson, Mary Carter, and Elma Hubbard; three sisters-in-law, Rosa, Mable and Diane Jackson; two brothers-in-law, Henry Taylor and Allen Smith and a number of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, one devoted Joseph Lyons.

God saw the road was getting rough
The hills were hard to climb;
He gently closed his loving eyes,
And whispered "Peace Be Thine".
His weary hours, his days of pain,
His weary nights are past
His ever-patient worn out frame
Has found sweet rest at last.
