Pearl Harris Howell

Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery

Mrs. Pearl Harris Howell, daughter of the late Robert and Eliza Harris departed this life Thursday, October 29, 1992 at a local nursing home.

She was born in Aberdeen, Maryland on December 22, 1893.

She joined the Mount Zion Baptist Church at an early age and was faithful until her health would no longer allow her to participate. She loved and supported her church.

She was married to Alfred Howell who proceeded her in death.

Our Aunt Pearl was a kind and generous person in the community. She was loved by everyone who came in contact with her.

She leaves to mourn her passing six nieces, six nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.

She bore her illness with dignity and patience. She quietly slipped away in the arms of Jesus. We will miss her greatly and forever treasure the times we spent with her.

I needed the quiet, so he drew me aside -
Into the shadows where we could confide;
Away from the hustle where, all the day long
I hurried and worried when active and strong.
I needed though quiet, though at first I rebelled,
But gently, so gently, my cross He upheld
And whispered so sweetly of spiritual things-
Though weakened in body, my spirit took wings.
God saw the road was getting rough, the hills were hard to climb
I needed the quiet, so He drew me aside.
He gently closed those loving eyes
And whispered forevermore,
                "Peace be Thine."

Sorrowfully submitted,
The Family
