        Mrs. Mary Ross Tinsley Smith, age 92, of Powhatan, departed this life on Saturday, March 27, 2010.

        She is survived by six daughters, Jaunita, Doris, Mable, Burnett, Phyllis and Carolyn (Solomon); adopted daughter, Nancy Moore; eight grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren; two brothers, James Tinsley (Martha) and William Tinsley (Marty); one sister-in-law, Sally Langley; one brother-in-law, Porter Smith; nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

        Her remains rested at Marian Gray Thomas Funeral Home of Cumberland. Funeral services were held Friday at Mt. Pero Baptist Church, Powhatan. Rev. Patrick Bland, pastor, officiating, and Rev. Melvin Woodson, eulogist. Interment in the church cemetery.
