Theodore W. Jordan, age 81, of Richmond, VA. departed this life at McGuire Medical Center September 11, 1989. He was born in Powhatan, VA and was the son of the late Annie and Richard Jordan. He was a veteran of world War II and served in France, Italy and Africa.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Sally Jordan; two step-children, six step-great grandchildren; four sisters, Mrs. Edmonia Bradley of Red Bank, NJ., Mrs. Blanche Harris of Powhatan, VA., Mrs. Marie Bell of Washington, DC., Mrs. Estelle Jones of Silver Springs, MD.; one brother, Mr. Nash Jordan of Hollis, NY.; four sisters-in-law, Mrs. Lucinda Adams, Mrs. Daisey Graham, Mrs. Nannie Venable, and Mrs. Celestine Jordan; four brothers-in-law, Mr. Henry Brown, Mr. Clarence Brown, Mr. Lawson Harris, and Mr. Calvin Jones and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Prayers and tears were all in vain.
Happy angels came and took you,
From this world of toil and pain.
God gave us strength to face it,
And courage to bear the blow,
What it meant to lose you
No one but God will ever know.
