Hollywood Baptist Church Cemetery

Henry Trueheart Walton, a son of the late Alvah Johnson Walton and Mary Elizabeth Taylor Walton, was born April 6, 1921 in Powhatan County, VA.

He attended the public schools in Powhatan County, VA.

At an early age he was converted, baptized and joined the Hollywood Baptist Church where he served on the Usher Board for over 40 years.

In 1940 Henry was joined in wedlock to Miss Mildred Vaughan. From this union four children were born.

He was employed with Richmond Ford until his retirement in 1978.

Poppie-Waltie, as he was fondly known, was a quiet, passionate, sensitive, loving husband and father who worked hard to provide for his family. He was very family oriented and enjoyed locating and getting to know other family members.

Poppie was a grandfather who gave a special meaning to the word father to Kimberly and Keith Jones.

He loved his church and community and enjoyed visiting the sick near and far. He would help anyone in a time of need and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

For about three years, he has been in declining health and departed this life at Chippenham Hospital in Richmond, VA on Tuesday, May 4, 1993.

He leaves to cherish fond memories, his devoted wife, Mildred Walton; three daughters, Alma Colson, Queen Jones and Bernice Jones; one son, Deacon Alvah E.
