Queen Freeman Lee

Hollywood Baptist Church Cemetery

Early Thursday morning May 31, 1990, God in his infinite wisdom called from labor to reward our loved one Queen F. Lee. She was born March 27, 1907 to the late Robert and Cecelia Freeman in Powhatan County. Although we are saddened by her passing, we are happy to have shared so many happy years with her.

She became a member of the Hollywood Baptist Church at an early age with which she maintained a close relationship until health problems prevented her from attending services.

In the year of 1929 she joined in holy matrimony to the late Charles Lee. She was a very caring person to friends and relatives, doing whatever she could in her special way. She was also devoted to her family, always being there when needed by her children and grandchildren.

She leaves to cherish fond memories; one daughter, Mildred Lee; four sons, Robert, George and Charles of Powhatan, VA., and Maurice of Fort Washington, MD.; eight grandchildren, Joyce McAllister, Larry, Robert, Jr., Brian, Charles, Criddleton, Gregory and Lanette Lee; three great grandchildren, Issac and Ikeisha McAllister and Calendra Allen; one sister, Mrs. Virginia F. Hewitt; two nieces Channie Johnson, one devoted Barbara H. Hicks; one nephew, Clinton Hewitt; two great nieces, Kimberly and Kelly Hewitt; two great nephews, Craig Hewitt and Henry Hicks; three daughters-in-law. Gladys, Phyllis and Mary Lee; one brother-in-law, Henry Hewitt; one grandson-in-law, Issac McAllister; and other relatives and friends.

God saw that you were suffering
And the hills were hard to climb
So he closed your weary eyelids
And whispered Peace Be Thine.

Someday we hope to meet you
On that calm and peaceful shore
To clasp your hand in a better land
Never to part no more.
