        Eliza A. Hicks, a daughter of the late Rueben and Rosa Johnson Hicks was born in Powhatan County, Virginia, December 25, 1886.

        She attended public schools in Powhatan.

        At an early age she was converted, baptized and joined the Hollywood Baptist Church, where she attended faithfully until her health began to fail.

        The majority of her life was spent in Powhatan.

        Eliza was a kind, pleasant person who was always concerned about her fellow man. She will be missed by her family, church and community.

        In 1982, she became a resident of Chippenham Manor where she departed this life on Wednesday, December 18, 1991.

        She leaves to cherish fond memories a number of cousins; one devoted Floyd Bates, other relatives and friends, three devoted; Paul Martin, Robert and Gertrude Worsham.

I am home in Heaven, dear ones
Oh, so happy and so bright!
There is perfect joy and beauty
In this everlasting light.

All the pain and grief is over,
Every restless tossing passed;
I am now at peace forever,
Safely home in Heaven at last.
