Carrie B. Hobson

Greenbrier Baptist Church Cemetery

Carrie B. Hobson was born January 16, 1910 in Suffolk County, NY to Charlie Hobson and Susan James Hobson. She entered eternal rest on April 4, 2000 at Laurels Willow Creek Nursing Home in Richmond, Va.

Carrie attended public schools in Powhatan County.

She was converted, baptized and joined Greenbrier Baptist Church at an early age.

She was employed by Dr. Louis Lynn until her retirement in 1990 when she moved to Powhatan.

While living in New York and after moving to Virginia she was cared for with affection by her three devoted nieces Helen, Betty and Rhonda.

Carrie was a very warm and caring person; she always thought of others before herself.

She leaves to cherish her memory: six nephews, Earl and Roger of Powhatan, VA., Charles of Hampton, VA., Tracy of Maryland, Mitchell and Ronnie of New Jersey; six nieces, Josephine of Maryland, Betty, Linda, Shelia, Michelle and Pamela all of New Jersey; three devoted great nieces, Helen of Powhatan, Betty and Rhonda of New Jersey; two sisters-in-law, Eugertha Hobson of Powhatan and Anne Brown of New Jersey; a goddaughter, Estelle Toppin of New York; a godson, Roger Hobson, Jr. of New Jersey and a host of great nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She lived for those who loved her
Her heart was kind and true
For the Heaven that smiled above her
and the good that she could do.

Her smiling face and pleasant ways,
are a pleasure to recall.
She had a kindly word for everyone,
And she died beloved by all.
